Yesterday we went up to the Foreign Residents Cemetary here in Lapta to the funeral of Cathy Jackson, who had lived here with her husband Ged for a number of years and who had been actively involved in many things,. The RBL, Theatre, Tulips Cancer society, a well known person and by the number attending the funeral, clearly well liked. A collection was held at the gate afterwards and we heard today that Tulips will benefit by 3,500 TL, to them a huge sum.

This evening, on reccomendation we were to go to the Dostlar restaurant to try their fish and chips. Well just as we were told the fish itself was in fact lovely and clearly fresh, but the batter was very thick and consiquently absorbed too much fat and possibly fat that should have been more hot in the cooking process. Shame really as it spoilt the fish. One thing we found at this bar restaurant was a big collection of old cameras behind the bar, see pic.

21st February

Sent this on an e-mail to Arie in Holland who also is a professional photographer with a collection of old cameras himself. He just came back OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
