Not many of the regular Thursday dinner club here at the moment, but Pat came back last night after her 5 weeks in UK, so we picked her up and met up with Barbara S and Caron at The Sea Pont here on the Lapta strip. Very noticable that they have spent money on this restaurant recently and it would seem that they are planning to stay open over the winter period.

The food quality is still very good  here but it is quite noticable that their prices have gone up by about 20% or more. Obviously they are suffering from lack of tourists just as all the restaurants are and are trying to recover some of their expenditure. What they need to think about are the regulars who will keep them alive in the winter. At the moment we go out to eat regularily but could always cut that down if the prices keep going up. The end result would be the same for them, less visits and less income, but that is not the Turkish Cypriot way of thinking.
